WHAT HAVE BEEN ACCOMPLISHED:
The project included designing a $60 million inbound and outbound ramps and structures connecting I-101 and the elevated circulation roads for the new SFO International Airport.
As part of the design team (A joint venture of PB/MC) for the SFO Airport Expansion Project, JMEC designed and completed the PS&E for two $16 million off-ramp structures of CIP prestressed box girders connecting NB I-101 to the new Airport Elevated Circulation Roads. JMEC coordinated the design effort for the interface structures between the IB/OB ramps and the adjoining elevated Circulation Roads. As part of this project, JMEC also prepared the PS&E for a $1.5 million seismic retrofit of an existing Airport On-Ramp Overcrossing, and the structure SSP for the entire project. The PS&E was prepared in accordance with Caltrans guidelines and procedures.
Seismic design was in accordance with new Caltrans seismic design guidelines and detailing. Columns were designed based on member displacement ductility.
During the planning stage, JMEC participated in the advanced planning study and prepared the structural type selection report.
